NEW DELHI:
The Indian government is taking steps to save money by not using coupons to get refills at the pumps.
The government's latest move to cut back on the use of the drug Nexium is also a major step forward.
The government had earlier said it would use the coupons to offset the cost of its prescription drug, called Nexium, which is used to treat heartburn.
The drug Nexium, which is made by Eli Lilly and is available to the government for $10 per pill, was found to be too expensive for a company called Pfizer Inc.
"In the U. S., it's cheaper than at generic drug companies," Pfizer spokeswoman Lora Shah said.
The government has now said it will not use the coupons to get refills for Nexium, the government said.
The government had earlier said it would use the coupons to offset the cost of its prescription drug, called Nexium.
The drug was launched in the U. S. in 2004, and is used to treat heartburn and acid reflux.
Pfizer said it had not received any financial assistance from the drug for the past six years.
"In the past six years, we've lost half of its market share, and the impact on Pfizer is not felt very much," Shah said.
The drug, which is sold under the brand name Prilosec, has been on the market for almost a year and is in a category that is not very lucrative.
The government was not immediately available for comment.
Pfizer said it is also looking at ways to reduce the cost of Nexium by getting discounts on the medicine.
The discount program was launched in the U. in 2007 and is available to the public at the pharmacy and the grocery store.
The drug is also available on the retail price of $6.65 for a 30-day supply. The pharmacy coupon, which is available for $20.20, will also be offered to customers in the U. for the first time.
The discount card will cost only $20.40, and the discount card will be available for 30 days at most pharmacies.
It is also available for customers in other countries as well.
Shah said the drug is available for sale without a prescription.
She said she did not know of any pharmacies that do not sell the drug, but she was sure that there was a similar program in other countries.in 2004 and is available on the retail price of $6.65.
It is available for sale without a prescription at pharmacies, but it is not available in the U. at all.
The drug has been used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers and is used to treat stomach and intestinal reflux.
The drug is also used to help people take the medicine.
It is not available on the U. market and is not sold in the U. as a drug.
Pfizer was told in November last year that it had received a financial support from the drug company for the past six years.
